Who are you?

My name is Takei Shun (call me Takei, please), born on September 15th 1993. I am a self-taught hobby artist from Bavaria, Germany, and currently majoring in Japanese Studies (2nd year).

About pronouns I would prefer if you don’t use any, just use my name. But if you must use any, please use they/them.

I am fluent in German & English, currently learning Japanese. I have minimalistic knowledge of Korean and Latin.

What tablet/program are you using?

I am using an old Wacom Bamboo Pen and Paint Tool Sai. I started testing out Clip Studio Paint as well, but I don’t really feel it… I might use it for effects here and there, tho.

Are you okay with reposts?

I absolutely do not want anyone to repost my art anywhere. I won’t allow it even if you credit me. I appreciate people liking my art enough to share it with their friends, but I prefer if those people did it with reblogs/retweets or sharing options from the original post.

Can I use your art as background/icon or similar?

If you want to use my art for this purpose I want you to ask me. Just send me a message like “Hey there, I’d like to use /picture xy/ as icon/bg for my blog/or whatever /blogname/link/.”. Usually I will allow you as long as you credit me, but, because it makes me really happy, I want to be able to look at it.
I won’t, however, allow if you edit the picture without asking. You can ask me if I can make it fitting for your wishes. Or you ask me if you could edit it and show me the idea you had in mind. It’s possible that I will be okay with it.

Can I use your drawing as reference?

I have been thinking about this lately and after talking to some friends, who told me that asian fandoms (Korean & Japanese to be more precisely) are very strict with references, I decided to add a link to the references I used for my drawings in case I used any. [starting August 2016]

So please check if there is a reference link and use this instead of my picture. But if you really want to use my picture as reference, please put a credit in the post. And I’d really like to see and reblog what you did, so I please show me.

But using a picture as reference isn’t the same as copying or, even worse, tracing it. I won’t accept this and ask you to not do it. It also won’t help you with your artistic development, trust me! I encourage you to try harder than simply copying/tracing a picture!

About your nsfw-drawings - are they 18+?

This is mostly a question related to my R18 tumblr, because on dA I can't submit the nsfw pictures anyway, I will include this question here anyway.

To be honest, I usually don’t think about the actual age of the characters in my drawings. But I can tell you that I want the characters to be  aesthetically appealing to me. I am 22 years old, so the characters are usually around that age or older.

But I have to say that I also sometimes draw the characters as they are in the anime/manga, for example in their high school uniform - consensual sexual activities are nothing that people under the age of 18 are forbidden to do and I also don’t want to hide it. It is important to me to be open with this topic. High school kids shouldn’t feel like having sex is something bad.

Tho I have to stress that I do draw intimacy that focuses on the feeling of love and trust more often, those are also the only kind of pictures I draw high school kids in. I don’t draw real porn with underage characters, since this completely misses the point of what I want my art to tell others.
The porn pictures are always with characters of 18+ years!

Do you take commissions/requests/trades/collaborations?

I do not take commissions nor requests.
You can ask me about trades, but I only do them with artists I follow.
I do collaborations but only with friends.

How long have you been drawing?

I started drawing in 2005, paper and pencil and occasionally crayons. I did draw before that, but it wasn’t seriously. Starting from 2005 I drew daily, filled every bit of paper with anime girls.

In 2011 I started with digital editing and eventually colouring - which was very exciting because I never really coloured my pictures before! The number of crayon coloured pictures is less than 10! I started with GIMP and my PC mouse.

A bit later I bought Sai since my art friend highly recommended me to do so - she actually is the reason how I came so far. ♥ I also got my tablet around the same time I got Sai.

Have you ever taken art classes?

No, I haven’t. That’s also why I don’t have a good understanding of colours, because I never studied anything and colours and backgrounds are my weakest points. But that is okay, since I am only drawing as a hobby. I will eventually learn more!

I’ve also watched Miraculous Ladybug and the live action movie of Litchi Hikari Club, which are not on MAL. There might be more but I can’t come up with it.

What are you usually drawing?

I honestly can’t answer this question. I have drawn Haikyuu!! for a while, which was a huge exeption to my usual being, since I’ve never drawn for only one fandom for a longer period of time - and also so many pictures!

Usually I am a multifandom artist, drawing whatever I feel like whenever I feel like it. I also draw original characters occasionally. I will still draw Haikyuu!! I think since I grew very fond of it.

Are you reading fanfictions? Are you writing any?

I have read a lot during the winter, but I don’t normally read any. I don’t read long fanfctions at all, but occasionally read drabbles. You can check out my
